What Others Say

"I was 6 years old when we went to the brand new Nugget that just opened that week! We lived in Oakland and visited my wonderful great aunt in Reno often. We didn't know Sparks existed until we went to the Nugget! After the opening we were there EVERY TIME we went to Reno. Why? Because of that swashbuckling, delightful, masterpiece...Yes the Awful Awful! You might say my family grew up on that burger... which became the burger standard of all burgers we will ever eat, for the rest of our lives... go figure! Every casino has their "special thing" to get you to gamble there. How brilliant is that to produce a burger so good... the kids bug mom and dad to death to get back to the Nugget to get another Awful Awful!"

History

History of the Awful Awful
The Awful Awful got its name from a young customer in Dick Graves' Idaho Coffee Shop who thought the hamburger was "awful-awful good." Today, the Awful Awful is served in Rosie's Café, which is open 24-hours a day and features a diverse selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices.
